Dr. Wei-Chen Lin is an internationally acclaimed marimbist and percussionist whose refined artistry has graced the world’s most prestigious stages, from the BBC Proms to the Lucerne Festival. Currently serving as a Lecturer at his alma mater, Boston University, Dr. Lin is recognized as a leading voice of his generation, balancing a prolific solo career with his status as a Premier Artist for Marimba One and a Signature Artist for Innovative Percussion. His vast performance history spans five continents, reflecting a mastery of solo, chamber, and orchestral repertoires that has solidified his reputation as a global authority in contemporary percussion.
Beyond his solo achievements, Dr. Lin is a celebrated collaborator and educator who co-founded the award-winning Duo LinLynn and serves as a core member of the innovative Toolbox Percussion collective. His distinguished career includes tenure as the first full-time timpanist of the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra and a percussionist with the Shanghai Symphony, complemented by years of service on the Percussive Arts Society Keyboard Committee. We are honored to welcome Dr. Lin to PS SUMMIT 2026, where his dedication to advancing marimba artistry and his expertise in mallet innovation will provide an unparalleled experience for all attendees.
SĀN PERCUSSION
Sān Percussion Ensemble is an acclaimed Malaysian percussion group known for its diverse and dynamic performances, showcasing a wide variety of percussion repertoire from classical to
contemporary works. Comprised of experienced percussionists from Malaysia, the ensemble is dedicated to introducing and popularizing Western percussion instruments and orchestral
performance to a broader audience.
Sān Percussion has performed an impressive range of well-known compositions, including Table Music and Trip per Uno, as well as works by celebrated composers such as Ivan Trevino.
Beyond their focus on international repertoire, the ensemble is committed to supporting local talent, premiering compositions by distinguished Malaysian composers such as Mr. Yeo Chow Shern, Mr. Isaac Chia, and Mr. Kevin Field. Recently, the ensemble was featured in Kaleidoscope 7: Gendang Sedunia, a major festival event organized by Hands Percussion Malaysia, further showcasing their versatility and excellence on a
prominent stage.
They have also been featured in numerous other prestigious music festivals, cementing their reputation as a leading force in the percussion world. Through their captivating performances, Sān Percussion Ensemble continues to push the boundaries of percussion music, bringing audiences into a vibrant and ever-evolving soundscape.
